I go walking every night with a friend of mine. Last night she was just going off about her husband. Anything and everything wrong with him in her eyes she was telling me about. As I walked and listened I found my mind wandering back to the study and how God expects us to not do that but rather to lift our husbands up. It used to be that I would join in with my own complaints, but last night I just stayed quiet, listened, and then changed the subject as soon as possible.

I’ve always been a very strong willed person and that has carried through in many ways with my marriage. The most noticeable way would be that I am stubborn and always have to have my way in everything. I even go as far as proving my Husband wrong and gloating over it just for my own satisfaction. I never saw this as something to work on or even as something that was remotely wrong in any way until I read the Proverbs 31 Wife Handbook. This book has really changed the way I view my marriage and my role as a wife, and I have to say that it came at just the right time. Every marriage has struggles and mine has been going through some major stuff. As I read through the handbook I felt God nudging me and really opening up my eyes to how I have been in the past and my heart and ears to how I need to be now and in the future. Marriage is a gift to us from God and our Husbands are the most precious part of that gift. God has given us a role as wives that is very well mapped out in His Word.
